Is your body alkaline or acidic? We often overlook what we are eating and its effect on the body. Some people say it is because life is so busy and stressful. However this should give you even more of a reason to eat alkaline and not acidic. The body constantly fights against acidic-producing foods, which we eat daily. The acid moves through your blood and then when it becomes too much it overloads the kidneys and is then processed as fat. Your body’s acidic levels are measured through the pH in your body. The lower your pH levels the higher your acidic levels. The higher your pH levels the lower your acidic levels are. A great way to track your alkaline/acidic levels is through a pH test strips, this shows your level through your saliva.

By increasing your pH levels and becoming more alkaline, the body will not convert the foods you eat into fat but use it for energy. An alkalized body also has a stronger immune system and is less likely to get sick. You will have better nights sleep and feel well rested. Plus some other benefits of slowly increasing your alkaline levels are an increase in energy, thinking capacity, digestion, mood and weight lose. So overall you will be feeling a lot better after switching to an alkaline lifestyle of eating alkaline rich foods.

So how do you alkalize your body to reduce the storage of fat? The answer is simple, eat more foods that are high in alkaline. I’m not saying throw away the acidic foods, just have a mix of both as long as they are all complex nutrients. Also never eat acidic foods on their own and always drink plenty of water, around 2L+ per day, to improve the digestion of your meals.

Here is a quick list of high to low acidic and alkaline foods.
